Hope Community, Inc. is a nonprofit community development corporation founded in 1968 by a group of residents dedicated to rescuing abandoned buildings and improving the East Harlem neighborhood. Hope’s mission is to create better communities and enrich the lives of those who live and work in the communities they serve. Hope seeks to rebuild the physical infrastructure of East Harlem by creating attractive, high quality, affordable rental and owner-occupied housing.

Apex Building Group, Inc. (“Apex”) is a New York based Minority Business Enterprise (“MBE”) certified, full service contracting, construction management and real estate development company with over 20 years of industry experience in occupied renovation, gut rehabilitation and ground-up new construction of affordable mixed-use residential development. To date, Apex has successfully completed over $400 million in construction, resulting in the addition or preservation of more than 4,000 affordable residential units in NYC.

Melissa Johnson Associates (MJA) is a New York–based planning and public engagement firm that partners with cities, agencies, and organizations to design and deliver meaningful community outreach. With a team of about 15 professionals, MJA brings expertise in stakeholder engagement, transportation planning, and communications strategy to projects ranging from Vision Zero safety initiatives and comprehensive operational analyses to infrastructure rehabilitation and greenway feasibility studies. The firm emphasizes collaboration, equity, and clarity in its work, ensuring that public voices are integrated into decision-making and that technical planning is accessible to the communities it serves.
